Sydney Metro West — Westmead to The Bays

The project

Sydney Metro West is a new 24-kilometre metro line with stations confirmed at Westmead, Parramatta, Sydney Olympic Park, North Strathfield, Burwood North, Five Dock, The Bays, Pyrmont and Hunter Street in the Sydney CBD. FR2 contributed across planning stages for Sydney Metro.

Stages FR2 contributed to

• Westmead to The Bays — planning support across the western section of the alignment
• EIS2 — environmental impact statement stage 2
• EIS3 — environmental impact statement stage 3

Environmental impact assessment on a project of this size depends on a credible construction picture: what is built where, in what order, over what duration, with what plant and how many truck movements. Producing that picture is planning work, and it feeds the assessment rather than following it.
