Rodrigo has over 20 years’ experience, specialising in commercial management and project controls. As a project and commercial lead, has successfully delivered major projects that consistently exceed targets. Technical expertise in commercial and program management, extensive skills in setting up, implementing, and managing project control systems, including the development of construction schedules, cost planning, forecasting, cost estimation, risk management and reporting.

A degree qualified Civil Engineer with an MBA in natural resources and environmental management and Diploma in Corporate Finance, working with leading public and private clients on major infrastructure and building projects.

Projects

  • Sydney Metro – West Metro Technical Advisor: Metro Commercial Manager for the reference design. This included ensuring the completion of contractual obligations, whilst delivering on time and budget and managing project risks.
  • TfNSW Zero Emission Buses (ZEB). Planning for TfNSW initial stages to secure $3 bn for Tranche 1 funding in 2022 (replacement of 1,200 Buses to electric vehicles and conversion of 11 depots, and one greenfield) includes out of metropolitan area (ROM) trials for hydrogen buses Project Controls, Planning and Schedule Risk Analysis (SRA).
  • TfNSW Digital Systems DS tranche 2 (DST2), Planning for TfNSW initial stages to secure $1 bn to replace traditional trackside signalling equipment with European Train Control System Level 2.  Project Controls, Planning and Schedule risk analysis (SRA)
  • TfNSW More Trains More Services (MTMS3a and MTMS2) Planning for TfNSW initial stages to secure $1 bn and 2.2 bn respectively in funding for extra rail services for Central STAR1, 2, T4, and T8 lines as part of the integration of heavy rail with Sydney Metro City & Southwest in 2024, including 17 suburban and 30 new intercity fleet procurement.  Project Controls, Planning and Schedule risk analysis (SRA)
  • TfNSW Kiama to Bomaderry (K2B) Fast Rail. Initial stages of planning include duplication of the rail line between Berry and Gerringong. Project controls, and planning
  • Sydney Metro -City and Southwest (C&SW) Planning Metro $14bn.  Integrated Scheduling services for procurement, design, construction, environmental planning, governance, and delivery activities into the Master schedule. Set up progress measurement system and performance analysis via EVM for Tunnels contract (TSE) and Central Station Yard Bridge (SYAB). 
  • Sydney Metro – City and Southwest (C&SW) Technical Advisor: Commercial and Project controls manager (Bid and Start-up) for the JV, managing 130 technical advisors for both the Joint Venture between AECOM, WSP, Cox, Hassell and RPS for Sydney Metro Project. Tunnels, Stations, Track and Alignment, Constructability.
  • Sydney Metro – Northwest Rail Link (NWRL) Program $8bn Commercial and Project control services for the technical advisor. Tunnels, Stations, Track and Alignment, Constructability. Cost tracking and analysis, scope management, weekly timesheet reporting, progress claim development, monthly and weekly reporting, forecasting and cash flow.
